Summer Intern Bo Elliott
Bo Elliott’s summer internship at Cimarron Homes provided him with valuable work experience, and as a Construction Management student at Western Carolina University, it helped him move one step closer to his goal of working in the field of residential construction.
A native of Forest City in Rutherford County, NC, Bo’s duties and responsibilities as an intern included (but were not limited to!) making sure job sites were running smoothly and on schedule, assisting homeowners during walk-throughs, and reading plans to make sure contractors were meeting the requirements of the plan designs.
Bo’s favorite part of his internship experience was learning from Project Manager Chad Copley how job sites are managed and seeing the progression of the houses– from grading the lot, to laying the foundation, through the framing process, and all of the many subsequent steps that lead to a finished home. It was also very interesting for him to learn more about what homeowners want in the design and features of their homes.
“The staff at Cimarron made me feel right at home,” said Bo. “It was a great experience and I was very glad to work for them.”
